Artist Talk: Marianne Lang and Richard Jurtitsch
The works on show demonstrate an indefinite localization of objects and subjects, interior space and external surroundings. Lang concentrates on motifs from Viennese architecture: not the city’s grand edifices, but rather a “promising paradise” of municipal housing and new buildings. She uses classic motifs such as windows in a surprising way. Lang challenges the conventions of her chosen medium, technique and genre, very much like Jurtitsch does in his drop images. Her pictures embody metaphorical gaps on the threshold of our perception.
